Fabric post cards, Self-care

Just created these fabric post cards.   Simply secure the fabric to a stabilizer, then quilt or add beads, etc.  Add a 4x6 blank index card on the back,  fold 1" fabric strip around edge and secure with stitching.  You're finished.  Quick and easy and fun.

Also, I just found this on Pinterest and thought I'd share it with you:

Practice, practice, practice!

"I have not failed.  I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."     -Thomas Alva Edison

I finally took some time to sit down and create some cards.  As I've mentioned in previous posts, I've been busy cleaning and organizing my garage and basement studio.  I'm still not finished with the project but I just felt the need to be creative.  While I wasn't really overly excited about the cards I made (I felt as if I was a beginner again) because it had been so long since I'd let my creativity flow, my grandchildren will still love them!  I'm so lucky, my grandkids love anything I make for them.

Some days you feel like a nut, some days you don't!  Today is one of those days.

Quote of the day - "Home"

"Where we love is our home - home that our feet may leave but not our hearts."  -Oliver Wendell Holmes

This card is one I'm sending our to our Grandson and his new wife.  They are moving into their first new home.   When you think of "home" what or where comes to mind?  A lot of us think of our childhood and where we grew up.  Some of us think of our current home and/or relationship; or perhaps our memories include several "homes".   I am blessed and greatful for our home together and love the fact the our grandchildren love visiting us.

Thank you card for a friend and a daily quote

This card is a combination of stamping and zentangles.

Quote of the Day - Fountain of Youth

"There is a fountain of youth; it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.
-Sophia Loren, Actress

This is a birthday card made for a friend. I think it reflects the above quote.

"When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason to give, thanks, the fault lies in yourself." -Tecumseh

Our coneflowers are blooming now, thus this is the card I made today.

Memories, quote, card

"The older we get, the swifter time seems to pass and the quicker memories seem to fade."

- Brian Sibley, writer

Today is my brother's birday and this is the card I made for him. The cat clock is a replica of the one we had on our bedroom wall when we were kids. Yes, we shared a bedroom. We had trundle beds and I slept on the top bed and Larry slept on the lower bed. The clock was really noisy, but comforting in some ways. It also would drown out the sound of the outside since we didn't have central air. I can also remember that sometimes we would put our beds on the opposite side of the bedroom and put a rope down the center of the room so each of us had our own space. His side was always the messy side!
