Quote of the day.

"People find life entirely too time consuming." - Stanislow Lec, Poet

This quote really hit home for me. Wednesday my computer quit, so the rest of the day was spent researching and purchasing a new laptop. So far I'm pretty happy with it and think I got a good buy. My day yesterday was spent tweaking the thing (as much as I could with my limited computer knowledge) and loading my printer software, etc. Learning curves seem to be so much more time consuming than they used to be!! Then I drove back to Dick Kreig motors in Delphi to pick up my car which needed repairs. Another time-consuming necessity. My car was long overdue for some minor tweaks and a good all over service as well as new brakes, etc.

Now, I need to figure out how to get my pictures, etc. onto this computer. Thank goodness I had backed up fairly recently. Don't know how I'll get the stuff off the dead computer that I added since the back-up. I'm sure there's a way other than paying someone to do it. Goodness knows, after purchasing the laptop, the warranty, etc. I would love to figure out how to do this myself.
Like I said before - my learning curve is very time consuming!

This morning has been spent cleaning the house - a time consuming necessity which rolls around too often. After checking my e-mail and posting this post, I will get back to more cleaning.

SO, my studio sits - waiting for me. I want to get started on a Memory book which is a commissioned project for me to do. By Monday it will be a time-consuming labor of love which will enrich my life and hopefully theirs as well.

Jewerly and card booth at Trade Show

Here's a link to our local paper's website.  I had my booth at the ABATE motorcycle meet yesterday and the local reporter included my booth in one of his photo's.  I'm about the 5th or 6th picture in the photo slide show.  Check it out!

Quote of the Day

"Flowers grow out of dark moments."      -Corita King

When I first read this quote, I hesitated but after much thought I realized with Easter right around the corner, it's a perfect time to post it.    It's difficult the image how dark the moment when the tomb of Jesus was found empty.   Jesus died for us, and I love him for that.  He is risen indeed!

Quote of the Day

I can remember as a little girl and until she passed away at the young age of 51, my Mother's most frequent quote:

"It's not the climb of the mountain, it's the grain of sand in your shoe."

This quote comes back to me quite often when I'm irritated at some small thing in my life.  Seems as if it easier most times to tackle the big struggles in life but get upset at the everyday small things.

This is an ATC card (blurry again because of the tiny compass holding the lid up on my scanner) I did recently.  I called it "Which way is up?"   Some days seem to be like that.

In Memory

Today is the memorial service for my friend, Janet Lovell.  She and several other of my friends are quilting buddies, calling ourselves "The Committee".  When Janet was first hospitalized last year,
The Committee got together and made this quilt for her:

Janet, may you rest in peace.  We will always remember you.

Quote of the Day

In honor of Thomas Jefferson, born today in 1743 as well as all my friends todays quote:

"I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend."     - Thomas Jefferson

All friends can disagree at one time or another; however I try to "agree to disagree" when having difference of opinions.

Quote of the Day

Today's quote is very deep and emotional for me:

"To give birth is a fearsome thing; there is no hating the child one has borne even when injured by it".

Paint the World Card

OK, I'm going to overcome my fears, and enter this card in a contest on the Paper Craft Planet Weekly Sketch.   Sko40211
The scan wasn't as clear as I would have liked because the small compass I added to the card is about 1/4 inch thick.

Quote of the Day

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.  -anonymous

I made this card for our granddaughter Corey.  She's a member of the Jordon Academy of Dance in Indy and last month we attended one of her programs.  She's a beautiful dancer and we are so thankful that she asked us to be there to watch her dance!
This is an ATC I made yesterday for an online swap group.

Enjoy your day and "dance" like no one is watching.

Quote of the Day

"Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at will change".   - Dr. Wayne Dyer

Ok, Dr. Dyer - I've tried changing the way I look at my printer and it still has quirks that are driving me crazy.  Today I tried to print and it just sat there.  I shut it down, restarted it -- nothing.  Sooo, I shut down my computer and re-started it - my printer still sat there.  It showed two documents pending.  Pending where?  I looked at it again   - this time with a smile on my face thinking of Dr. Dyer's quote.  Nothing.
I left clicked on the printer and it was paused.  Why?  I clicked on re-start and it FINALLY printed the two documents.  Drat!!!!  Technology is great when it WORKS!   Ok printer, I'm still smiling and I have lots more documents to go . . . . . . .

Chicken Artichoke Casserole

I came up with this casserole yesterday.  Thought I'd share it.  Yummy!

8 chicken tenders
1 can artichoke hearts, well-drained
1 sm. can mushroom bits and pieces (well-drained)
1/4 cup sherry
1 stick butter
1 tsp. garlic
1 tsp. rosemary
3 eggs
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup milk
1/4 cup slivered almonds
1/2 cup diced celery
1/3 cup Miracle Whip
day old bread (I used a dark bread)
1 cup of shredded cheeses (I used  Mizithra Cheese purchased @ The Spagetti Factory which is a combination of Ricotta cheese and Romono cheese).

Saute chicken in melted butter, garlic and rosemary until lightly browned on both sides.   Layer crumbled bread crumbs in the bottom of a large casserole dish.   Cut chicken into bite size pieces and place on top of bread crumbs.  Cut up artichocke hearts and layer on top of Chicken.

Saute mushrooms, celery, cheeses and almonds in remaining butter for about 5 minutes.   Layer over top of casserole ingredients.

Combine cream of chicken soup, sherry, eggs, Miracle whip and milk in seperate bowl and wisk until blended.  Pour over the ingredients in the casserole dish.

Bake at 375 degrees for approx. 1 hr.

Spring Time!

Even though it's still cool outside, I wished  for Spring  weather as I was creating these:
